This book is so well written the characters are described so so well。 This book had me laughing at points in it。 It’s such a fun & crazy book。 The illustrations are amazing though out the book。 I couldn’t put this book down once I started it。 Xx

Wat een zalig en spannend kinderboek。 Ik kijk ernaar uit om het voor te lezen in mijn klas。De held van het verhaal is een meisje met kort haar en een salopette。（Geen tuttebel prinses， dus。）Op een dag staat ze op en blijken alle volwassenen verdwenen。 Dat heeft iets de maken met de monsters die onder het bed van de kinderen wonen。Heel leuk is dat de schrijver doorheen het boek ook aan het woord komt。Vanaf 9 jaar。

I finished this book pretty quickly， and it was easy to read。 I found it a bit boring at first， but I found it sweet。 At first， Lucy was quite annoying， wanting to help Creakers but I understand。 Overall， the ending was cute and happy it worked out。

Er zijn veel bedtijdverhaaltjes， spannende verzinsels over die dingen die zich onder je bed verschuilen。 Dit is ook zo een verhaal， maar deze is écht！ Want Lucy heeft het meegemaakt。 Als zij ’s ochtends een keer wakker wordt， blijken alle volwassenen te zijn verdwenen。 Er zijn alleen nog maar kinderen en dan breekt er natuurlijk chaos uit。 Terwijl de andere kinderen feesten， al het snoep opeten en alles doen wat eerder nooit mocht， gaat Lucy op onderzoek uit。 Ze wilt niets liever dan haar moeder Er zijn veel bedtijdverhaaltjes， spannende verzinsels over die dingen die zich onder je bed verschuilen。 Dit is ook zo een verhaal， maar deze is écht！ Want Lucy heeft het meegemaakt。 Als zij ’s ochtends een keer wakker wordt， blijken alle volwassenen te zijn verdwenen。 Er zijn alleen nog maar kinderen en dan breekt er natuurlijk chaos uit。 Terwijl de andere kinderen feesten， al het snoep opeten en alles doen wat eerder nooit mocht， gaat Lucy op onderzoek uit。 Ze wilt niets liever dan haar moeder terug krijgen en niets kan haar stoppen。 Zelfs de Knerpers niet。Hetgene wat veel lezers zal aanspreken， is de cover van dit boek。 De gouden letters， het magische sterrenstof aan Lucy’s voeten en de geweldig mooie en realistische Lucy zelf。 En dat was nog maar het begin。 Nadat ik het boek op pakte en de zijkanten bekeek， zag ik dat er ook tekeningen ín het boek aanwezig waren。 Nou， ik sloeg het boek open en WOW！ De illustraties in het boek zijn net zo mooi （soms zelfs nog mooier） dan die op de cover。 Ze zijn weliswaar zwart/wit maar dat doet niets af aan de details， het realisme en de kracht ervan。 Ik kon dus niet anders dan dit boek kopen en gaan lezen！ En wat heb ik ervan genoten。In het begin moest ik wel even wennen aan de schrijfstijl。 Tussen de hoofdstukken over Lucy door， schrijft de auteur namelijk soms korte stukjes aan de （jonge） lezers over hoe spannend het verhaal gaat worden en waarschuwt ons om voor sommige hoofdstukken naar de wc te gaan omdat hij niet verantwoordelijk gehouden kan worden voor eventuele ongelukjes。 Op zich wel grappig， maar voor mij had dit niet gehoeven。 Ik snap heel goed waarom de auteur het heeft gedaan。 Zo had ik het er namelijk met een collega uit de boekenwinkel over。 Het boek kan namelijk best wel spannend ervaren worden door jongere kinderen en deze tussen stukjes bevatten humor en brengen tussendoor even wat luchtiger voor de lezers。 Mijn collega benoemde ook dat deze tussenstukjes erg leuk zijn als je het boek bijvoorbeeld zou voorlezen aan je kind。 Het wordt er ook interactief door。Dat buiten beschouwing gelaten， bevat het boek verder ook wel wat humor。 Het is wel echt gericht op kinderen， gemakkelijk taalgebruik， simpele zinnen en een niet al te moeilijke verhaallijn。 Maar ik moet zeggen， dat ik toch wel verbaasd was door de wendingen die het verhaal af en toe nam， zeker naar het einde toe gebeurden er wat onverwachte dingen die zelfs ik bijna niet aan had zien komen。 De spanning wordt ook steeds meer opgebouwd omdat er eerst maar één knerper is en dat verandert naarmate het verhaal vordert。Maar nog even terug naar de illustraties。 Echt， wauw！ Ze voegen heel wat toe aan het verhaal。 Bijna alle kinderen uit het verhaal krijgen hierdoor een gezicht waardoor ze beter te herkennen zijn voor de lezers。 Ze hebben allemaal wel iets specifieks， iets waaraan je ze kunt herkennen en de details van de illustraties zijn gewoon weg super！ Ik ben echt helemaal weg van de tekeningen。 Als de gezichten van de personages goed uitkomen en naar mijn mening erg levendig en schattig of mooi zijn， dan ben ik al snel geneigd meer werk van de desbetreffende illustrator op te zoeken。 。。。more
